As the end of the summer approaches, how are you getting your child(ren) ready for the back-to-school routine?

Not me personally she does go to preschool 4 times a week though. Poor lil girl is up at 5:45 am on those days. But I do know moms that have kids going that have never ever (I mean never once) been on a routine and she is hoping to get them on one the week before.

Good luck to all you moms! It's almost school time again.

This is another reason why I LOVE homeschooling. I don't miss getting kids ready for school at all!

Good luck to the rest of you, though!

About three weeks before school actually starts I start getting her to bed at her normal 'school' bed time and getting her up at regular time in the morning, just so by the time school starts she is on the schedule.

So that's what the LA is for :) I'm delighted to see another Christian blogger from Louisiana!

My daughters are grown now, praise the Lord. But, I would do just what Mary does, starting 3 weeks prior. Then they grew into teen agers and they starte preparing themselves for back to school.

I just love those cute baby pictures. Makes me want grandchildren! Soon, I hope, soon.

i'm in denial. I am not ready for back to school. I will have two kids in school full time :( They are both excited. My 4th grader can't wait. My kindergartener hasn't a clue what hes in for. Praying he adjusts quickly.
We are starting the routine of baths, reading and getting in bed no later 8:30 this week.

All of the advice is great! I think consistent bedtimes and wake up times is important...nobody needs that kind of shock to their system all at once. ;-)

I like Mrs. Fun's idea about a routine for baths and reading...I need to work on that. I also need to get Jonah to practice his handwriting for his tough 1st grade teacher. Hee Hee!
